συμβάλλει ουσιαστικά στη διαλογή των ασθενών,
αποκλείει άλλες, οξείες και μη, παθολογικές οντό-

Primary epiploic
appendagitis: computed tomography imaging
features
Primary epiploic appendagitis is a rare inflamma-
tory process of colonic epiploic appendages. As it is
characterized by acute abdominal pain, it can be easily
confusedwith other more severe and probably surgically
treated abdominal pathologies. We present a case of
primary epiploic appendagitis, which was evaluated by
computed tomography. Imaging findings in abdominal
computed tomography are pathognomonic, allowing
correct diagnosis and proper patient management.
Key-words:
epiploic appendage, acute abdominal pain,
computed tomography, hyperattenuating ring sign
